Eggs go on lockdown *graphic picture*

So yesterday my eggs went on lockdown. That means I no longer have to rotate them and I raise the humidity about double. Yesterday was day 18 and eggs usually hatch after 21 days. I am so so excited to see how many actually hatch, if any. This is my first time hatching eggs in an incubator. Some were duds and I already tossed them before lockdown. Some chicks had stopped growing for whatever reason.

Though it maybe a little gross it was a great learning experience for the kids. They got to see how they develop and what they looked like mid development. We candled them while in the eggs but you can't see detail like the real thing. We also seen one a lot further than this that stopped growing but I forgot to snap a picture.

I am however not a person that likes to wait so I took a trip to Tractor Supply Company and bought me 6 fluffy butts! They are so cute and I love having baby chicks around.

Koru Naturals Review

Vendor: Koru Naturals
Product: Emu Oil
New Zealand Pure and Simple Lanolin Cream
Price: Emu Oil 2oz bottle $9.95
New Zealand Pure and Simple Lanolin Cream $8.95

About: Koru Naturals opened their store in 2002 to offer products from New Zealand. They felt that they could get better products from there than they could in the USA.  They also do not test their products on animals. So when they gave me the oppritunity to sample their Emu Oil and New Zealand Pure and Simple Lanolin Cream I was very excited.
Koru Naturals Review
Emu Oil is 100% grade A emu oil with no additives or preservatives. You can use this on your hair or your skin. A little goes a long way and it is suggested that you put a few drops in your hand then apply to the area you want. You can also use as a leave in conditioner or as a treatment for dry or damaged hair.

Koru Naturals ReviewNew Zealand Pure and Simple Lanolin Cream is a pure lanolin cream for use on your face and body. It helps to revitalize your skin as well as a diaper rash protector for babies bottoms.

How I used: I have hypothyroid, if you know anything about it  than you know that it causes hair to become very dry and brittle. I am also a licensed hair stylist and have tried just about every professional product out there to help this issue. I have not tried Emu Oil though, so this was a new adventure for me. During my time with the Emu Oil I stopped using any products besides my normal shampoo and conditioner routine. I used this as a treatment to my hair by placing about 6 or 7 drops in my hands and working into my wet hair. I used just a tad more than was called for on their site because my hair is below my bottom, much longer than most peoples hair. Then I placed a shower cap on and left for about 30 minutes. I also put a warm towel on top since in my line of work I have learned the warmth helps the oil penetrate the hair.  I ended up doing this twice a week during the review period and I will tell you I can really tell a difference. I do still have some damage but my hair is a lot easier to maintain on a wash and go time. It knots up far less because it is softer and silky. I also decided to try it on my sons eczema patch on his chest and it only took 3 days of applying twice a day for it to go away. That is much quicker than most products I have used for it.

The Lanolin Cream I LOVED! We cloth diaper so there are very few products that you can use for diaper rash without ruining your diapers. I use a regular lanolin for lots of things but its more of a Vaseline base so I don't like to use it a lot as it gets on things. So it was nice to try a cream base. I was able to use it on my baby and his diaper area with no effect on my diapers. I also used it as a lotion to help dry skin areas on my hands from the cold air as well as on him after a bath. It has a nice fresh smell to it and kept him feeling baby soft.

Over all thoughts: I think these products were amazing and I will be continuing to use them as well as trying out some of the other products. My next purchase will be the Manuka Oil and Honey Shampoo and Conditioner since I loved the way the pure emu oil made my hair feel. I think that the addition of using these will just make it even better. They also have Koolpurrie Restoring Balm and Pure Lanolin Lip Balms which look really neat to try as well. I think most anyone that likes more natural types of cosmetics will want to try theses. I also think people that have troubles with skin and hair and have failed with other products will also want to test these out. I am guessing that if you do then you will have the same great results as I do.

Heirloom Audio Productions Review

In Freedom's Cause Audio CD Review

Includes-
In Freedom's Cause (CD Set - Physical Copy)
Price: $29.97
Age: 6 to adults

About: Heirloom Audio Productions gave me the opportunity to review their audio soundtrack,  In Freedom's Cause Single Package. This two disk CD audio set is written by John Fomof, Aaron Fullan, Bill Heid, Nick Heid and Nick Huizenga.. Included in the insert is a prayer by William Wallace as well as discussion ideas. The journey on these CD's takes you through time with Ned and Gerald who gets with William Wallace who is Scotland's most influential freedom fighter. This happened back in the late 1200's to the early 1300's. William Wallace is a devout Christian and uses his faith in God to have the courage and passion to free Scotland. Then it switches off to King Robert the Bruce who continues the path of Wallace.

How we used: My children are 10, 8, and 6. I wanted them all to participate and I knew it would be a bit much to expect them to all sit through over 2 hours of audio. Two of my children have attention problems anyways.  However after starting the audios and hearing the amazing quality and effects the kids were more intrigued than I would have ever though. We ended up listening to a couple tracks a day and then going over the In Freedom's Cause Study Guide (Digital Download) together as a group. The study guide is sectioned out; Listen Well, Thinking Further, and Defining Words. After trying to just listen to our portions then answer the questions I found it was harder for the younger kids to recall greatly. So I started following along with the questions myself and stopping when I heard a part come up and I would discuss with them about it. After we were all done we went back over the defining words and looked them up in the dictionary to see what everything meant.

Thoughts: I was really impressed with the quality of these CD's and how much they did keep the attention of my little ones. The study guide followed along really well but I do think it would be even easier to do with older kids to work on alone, but it was nice to have something on hand to help me with discussion points. The moral behind the story is great for all ages. The story teaches us to fight for what we believe in. In this case that William Wallace believed in the Scottish being free. It was not always and easy task and there were lots of disappointing times but he never gave up. In turn they were rewarded for their hard work and was able to get Scotland free.

One of my favorite parts is the
Printable copy of The Prayer Of William Wallace. It is Psalms 23 in the Latin Vulgate. It is very beautiful and frames well. The prayer is comforting and motivating, we all enjoyed reading it and will continue to use it as a reminder for us in our everyday lives.

I really think anyone that loves History will love to listen to this and enjoy being a "part" of the experience with the actors that did such an amazing job on this audio.

Great Commission Films Review

IndoctriNation DVD Review

Product: IndoctriNation DVD
Price: $19.95

I received the Great Commission Films DVD IndoctriNation. This movie is 102 minutes long and its initial release was in 2011. There are 19 different segments for the movie and you can navigate to each one. The movie has a parental advisory at the beginning and it is serious. This movie is really not for little ears to hear at all.

The movie starts out by talking about public schools and how they are now. How there is less Christ in them than before. That they teach things for health class like if it should be legal for two men to get married. You have to remember some of these things are older as the film was first put out in 2011. The children in the class were very young and in my opinion way to young to be thinking about the sexual lifestyle of two men. Colin Gunn is the main character of this film, he is a homeschooling father himself. He is traveling across the country to learn about public schools from how they are ran to how they started and evolved. During this travel he meets many  people and interviews them for their opinions on the system.

Did you know the initial public school set up in the 1800 was to mass teach people to do factory work? Crazy huh? There are also 14 other countries that rank higher in reading than we do. It seems like we always say how great America is to have free education and such. Is it really worth it though? Are our kids still getting what they need out of it? The film really gives some thought provoking topics that make you open your eyes to see what some of the things that are being taught in schools. It is even showed that there is a drop of the Christian faith by the time a teen graduates. This is the said reality of what America has made our schools.

I think this is a great film and helps back my reasons to homeschool my children. Though I think this is great for all Christians to watch I think that the strong opinions and topics might make some Christians feel horrible that they can not homeschool their children. It is sad we live in a day that it sometimes takes 2 parents to work in order to just survive. Though I think maybe it would even give a glimpse into things they could pray with their children on each day. It would also provide lessons for them to teach the kids so they know what the Christian thoughts are in it. Heck it may even boost some more parents to get more involved with the schools to help bring some better standards back.

I remember being in school when the rule changed that the teachers could no longer lead us in prayer at the pole of a morning. That was horrible, but the students took lead and continued it.  Then the teachers were not even allowed to attend. They just keep taking everything away. You get a good teacher in the school and they try to strip all that good out. Think to yourself, would you rather a devil worshiper teach your child or a Christian? I think the majority of us would choose a Christian just because of the morals they have. Despite the love of God they are tender and loving and caring. You don't get that feeling from someone who clearly states they are not a Christian.

Anyways I really think any of those thinking they are not doing the best thing for their child by homeschooling them, watch this movie now! You will not regret your choice afterwards and it may make you want to be sure to instill some more morals into your children earlier so they are not influenced by the outside world.

SLIMQUICK Review

SLIMQUICK Pure Extra Strength Gummies

Lose 3X the Weight*
With Bio Pure Green TeaTM
Stimulant Free
Amazing Mixed Berry Flavor

I received a bottle of SLIMQUICK Pure Extra Strength Gummies to review for this post. I know the first thing most people want to know, or maybe it is just me, is how do they taste. I am a pretty picky eater, even a bigger pick at gummie things. I am generally not a gummy fan as many things seem to have some kind of off taste, I assume it is the gelatin or something. With this they actually have a "sugary" coating that helps the texture and the flavor be bold and sweet. This makes eating the much easier.

Now on to the good stuff. These are supposed to help aid in speeding up your metabolism. It is winter here so that is a good thing. While I only lost a little bit of weight I know I could have lost more had I been able to exercise as well. They did seem to help burn the calories that I was already eating at a higher rate than I was prior to starting the gummies.

As far as purchasing, they are really easy to find, most chain retailers as well as drug stores carry them. My local Walmart has them for $19.88 a bottle. Which is a great deal as it is a 60 count bottle, each serving being 3 gummies. So for almost a months worth for about $20. It is definaly worth the price to try it out. I will continue using them in hopes that this warm weather comes back and I can work out with them and see how much  more they work then.

SLIMQUICK Pure Extra Strength Gummies are sweet and juicy mixed berry flavored and are all-natural and free of artificial colors. In fact, they are such a treat you won't believe they are actually helping you lose weight! SLIMQUICK Pure is a ground-breaking formula that's designed to help women lose 3 time the weight in 13 weeks. It is all wrapped neatly under tissue paper and well sealed box.

Is Bigfoot Real?

This statue always gives me a smile. It is located on State Hwy 5 on the line of Missouri and Arkansas. There is a man near my home town that swears he seen Bigfoot up close and personal. He hand carved this statue of what he saw. So do you believe?
